Joe Biden and those who support him have asserted that a Biden-Harris administration will unite and return our country to “normalcy”. Nothing could be further from the truth. The race-baiting rhetoric of Joe Biden and his far-left running mate, Kamala Harris, has, and will continue to inflame divisions. Moreover, If enacted, their proposed policies will further widen the racial and political divide.
Let us not forget that during the Obama-Biden administration, racial tensions grew significantly. Then-President Obama never fairly evaluated a controversial incident between a black and white American. Before knowing all of the facts, Obama always assumed there was racism involved. The first black president, who was supposed to be the catalyst to heal racial discord, instead exacerbated the hatred. Biden has already proven that he would be an even more divisive president.
Throughout the presidential campaign, Biden has repeatedly denounced the United States, echoing the mantra of many on the left, claiming that our country’s system is rife with injustice and systemic racism. Undoubtedly, the Biden and Harris campaign rhetoric has helped to give justification to those looting and causing destruction under the pretense of social justice.
In the wake of George Floyd’s killing, when asked about the protests, which often turned into riots, Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris replied:
“They’re not gonna stop, and everyone beware they’re not gonna stop. They’re not gonna stop before election day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after election day.”
Moreover, neither Biden nor Harris have condemned ANTIFA, and both have praised the Black Lives Matter Movement. Interestingly, they have also been far more critical of law enforcement than they have of those committing destruction and acts of violence in Democrat-led cities throughout the country.
Disgracefully, after the shooting of Walter Wallace Jr., who was killed by police after he lunged at them with a knife, Biden implied Wallace was a victim of racism. Biden tweeted:
“Our hearts are broken for the family of Water Wallace, Jr, and for all those suffering the emotional weight of learning about another black life in America lost”.
Toeing the line with the radical left, Biden claims that systemic racism exists everywhere. When recently asked by NBC’s Norah O’Donnell if he believed that there was systemic racism in law enforcement, he stated:
“Absolutely, but it’s not just in law enforcement, it’s across the board. It’s in housing, it’s in education, and it’s in everything we do. It’s real. It’s genuine. It’s serious.”
No surprise, Biden has filtered all of his proposed policies through the ever-elusive objective of social and economic justice. Biden and Harris believe that perceived disparity everywhere is owed to racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia..etc. And the only solution is government intervention.
According to Biden, White Privilege is a given. At a CNN Town Hall in September, when asked about White Privilege, Biden responded: “Sure I’ve benefitted, just because I don’t have to go through what my black brothers and sisters have had to go through.”
Biden has also declared that he supports legislation by Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) that would form a commission to develop a proposal to pay reparations to not only black Americans for slavery and discrimination dating back to 1619 but also to Native Americans.
The year 1619 has gained prominence among the far-left because of the New York Times “1619 Project”. The main conclusion of the 1619 Project is that a primary reason our founding fathers wanted independence from Britain was to protect the institution of slavery.
Most top historians, even left-leaning ones, have denounced the accuracy of the 1619 Project. Despite the incorrect rewriting of American history, schools in California and Chicago have included the 1619 Project in their curriculums.
President Trump has threatened to withhold federal funding to schools that teach from the 1619 Project. It is doubtful that a Biden-Harris administration would push back against those attempting to reframe and cancel our history to fit their “woke” agenda.
Biden is No Moderate
Even Socialist Bernie Sanders agrees that Biden is running on the most progressive platform in modern times. Biden is proposing $4 trillion in new taxes, as well as a myriad of onerous regulations. This combination will end the current “V’ shaped recovery, which is beating all economic expectations.
However, strong economic growth is not the goal of a Biden-Harris administration. Equality is the priority. Biden often repeats the assertions of many on the left that the rich do not pay their fair share. Never mind that the top 10% of income earners pay 70% of all federal income tax in the United States.
A Biden-Harris administration will not bring healing or unity to our fractured nation. They will exacerbate it with their endless rhetoric telling low-income earners, women, and minorities that the “system” has been rigged against them. Biden and Harris are running on a platform that promotes class warfare and gender and racial division. If their agenda comes to fruition Americans will be destructively pitted against one another as never before.
A Biden Presidency Will Empower the Radical Left
Biden has refused to say if he would add more justices to the Supreme Court or whether he would end the filibuster for legislation if Democrats win the Senate. Ending the legislative filibuster would allow the Senate to pass any legislation with only a majority of votes, rather than the 60, which is currently required.
Biden refuses to answer these questions, because the answer is “Yes”. Everyone knows that a Biden presidency would be commandeered by the radical left. If the legislative filibuster is ended Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her America-hating “Squad” will have free rein to: enact the Green New Deal, kill the fossil fuel industry, raise marginal tax rates to over 50%, open our borders, nationalize banking, healthcare, energy, …etc.
Further, they could make Puerto Rico and Washington DC states, adding four more Democratic Senators. These changes would almost ensure that the United States would become a one-party nation.
Joe Biden is right about one thing. This presidential election is a “battle for the soul of the nation”.
