Not surprisingly the very same in the media who frequently decry that our democracy is in peril have turned a blind eye to the lawlessness in the blue counties in Florida.
What is going on in Florida
On election night Rick DeSantis was declared the winner in the race for governor in Florida, the Senate race was called for Rick Scott, and the Florida agriculture commissioner race was also declared for the Republican candidate. Incredibly, Votes, heavily favoring Democrats were discovered after the election, calling into question these Republican wins.
Rick Scott was ahead by 57,000 votes and declared the winner on election night over Bill Nelson in the Floridian senate race. The next day his lead dropped to 30,000 votes, then 15,000. Today its 12,562
When Andrew Gillum conceded the race for governor he was down 84,000 votes to DeSantis. DeSantis’ lead has since dropped to 33,000 votes.
The number of reported votes cast in Broward County has also changed. On election night 634,000 votes were reported cast. That number has since increased to 712,840. Since the election almost 80,000 votes have been discovered.
Brenda Snipes and Broward County
The found votes have mainly come from Broward County and about 15,000 from Palm Beach County. Brenda Snipes, the election Supervisor in Broward County, at the very least has shown gross incompetence, at the worst malfeasance. In violation of Florida election laws Snipes has refused to report: how many people voted, how many ballots were counted, timely updates on votes counted, and the number of ballots not tallied. On Friday a court in Broward County found Snipes guilty of violating the state public records act.
Snipes and her staff also mixed up 22 invalid provisional ballots with valid ones, and included the votes deemed illegitimate by the Broward County canvassing board in her vote totals submitted to the state. These illegitimate votes were only discovered because attorneys for Scott were present and demanded that Snipes present the ballots to the canvassing board. Since there was no way of separating theses illegal votes from the valid ones, the 22 invalid votes are being counted.
As pointed out by Florida Senator Marco Rubio, since these illegal votes were found, by chance, how do we know that there aren’t many more illegal votes being submitted to the state in this heavily Democrat county?
This is not the first time that Snipes has been found guilty of violating election regulations. Just this past August, as reported by Politico, Snipes, after being sued by the Republican Party, was ordered by a judge to stop opening mail-in ballots in secret. The law requires that mail in ballots be examined by the canvassing board to assure that only valid votes are counted.
In May 2018 according to the Sun Sentinel a court ruled that Snipes and her office violated state law by prematurely destroying ballots from a 2016 congressional primary race, which was the subject of a lawsuit against her office. Before the ballots were destroyed Snipes even signed a certification that said no court cases involving the ballots was pending. She also posted on the elections office’s website the results of this race 30 minutes before the polls closed, which is also a violation of election law. Further, in 2016, Snipes left a constitutional amendment off some ballots.
Violations were also found in Palm Beach. Scott filed lawsuits against both Broward and Palm Beach. Ruling in Scott’s favor, the court found that Palm Beach County Supervisor of elections, Susan Bucher improperly handled ballots in private which should have occurred in front of the canvassing board, so as to assure that invalid ballots were not counted.
Clinton Attorney
As if there weren’t enough eye-brow raising incidents involving the votes in Florida, one of the attorneys leading the recount, Mark Elias, an attorney with Perkins Coie, was a top attorney for the Clinton campaign. Elias was instrumental in retaining Fusion GPS to produce the largely discredited anti-Trump Russian dossier, which helped usher in the accusations of Russian collusion. Elias is representing Bill Nelson, Scott’s Democrat opponent.
In a conference call to reporters a few days ago, Elias stated that, “we’re doing this not just because it’s automatic, but we’re doing it to win…”. In other words it’s not about making sure that every vote is counted, it’s about finding as many votes as possible for Bill Nelson, so his client is declared the winner.
In their brazen quest for votes, Nelson’s attorneys are looking to overturn election laws in Florida law. Through lawsuits they are making numerous demands: They want a manual recount by election officials of all ballots that have a double vote or no vote for the senate race to determine voter intent. This is not the law in Florida. They also want to count every mail-in-ballot, even when the signature doesn’t match the signature on file. This too goes against Florida election law. Also not in accordance with the law in Florida they want to allow votes postmarked before election day, but received afterward, to be counted. Lastly, they want to throw out the November 15th deadline, that requires all counties to be finished with their machine recount of votes.
Reversing the laws, after the election, to change the outcome of the election, is antithetical to American values, and is in effect stealing the election,
Only VALID Votes Must Count
A constant refrain among Democrat lawmakers and the media, who often echo the sentiments of the Democrat party, is that Republicans are trying to suppress votes, and that “every vote must count”. Apparently even the invalid ones. A transcript of a Palm Beach County canvassing board proceeding shows that attorneys for Gillum and Nelson both objected to the rejection of votes cast by non -citizens as reported by the Daily Caller.
As a consequence of the additional votes discovered, both Gillum and Nelson have rescinded their concessions. Further, in accordance with Florida law, such close margins of “victory” require a machine recount. Recounts are now underway and are required to be completed by tomorrow, unless an extension is granted,
It is undeniable that election laws were violated by Democrat Supervisors in heavily Democrat counties in Florida. Questioning how and why almost 100,000 votes were discovered, after the election, is not voter suppression. For every illegal vote mistakenly, or purposefully counted , a valid vote cast by a citizen of the United States is invalidated. This is not a left or right issue, this is an American issue which should concern all. No- not every vote should count, only the valid votes of the citizens of our country.
