“How that could possibly happen? How anyone could be that irresponsible? What data was in there that may compromise sources and methods?”- Joe Biden in September 2022 on former President Trump storing classified documents at Mar-a Lago.
Fast forward four months and we learn that Biden recklessly stored top secret documents in multiple locations. Biden’s attorneys discovered the first batch of documents back on November 2 in Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
Tom Anderson, director of the Government Integrity Project at the National Legal and Policy Center, described the Penn Biden Center as
“a dark money, revolving door nightmare where foreign competitors like China donated millions of dollars to the university so that they could gain access to future high ranking officials.”
Interestingly, the University of Pennsylvania president complained to the Biden administration over a Trump-era crackdown on Chinese student visas. The Trump administration’s objective was to prevent Chinese spies from infiltrating our country’s universities. Biden ended this extra scrutiny of Chinese students applying to American universities.
Since the Penn Biden Center opened in 2017, foreign donations to the University of Pennsylvania, as reported by the Free Beacon, more than tripled, “with most of the $61 million coming from China”. Why did donations from the Chinese communist government and other foreign nations surge after Biden’s association with the University? Was foreign money used to finance the Penn Biden Center?
There are so many more unanswered questions:
Has national security been jeopardized? Does anyone know who had access to Biden’s unsecured office and home, where he carelessly stored our nation’s top secrets? Why were attorneys used to move boxes of documents in his former office? Was it suspected they would find classified material? If so, who raised these suspicions? And why were attorneys without a security clearance allowed to do the searching?
Separating himself from the scandal when the news first broke Biden claimed he had no idea how or why these documents were in his office. Only days later, this defense became laughable when the Biden administration revealed his attorneys found additional classified materials in the garage and an adjacent room in Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware house back in December.
On Saturday, two days after Biden spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly gave assurances that their search for classified material was complete, they announced the discovery of more documents in Biden’s home.
Incredibly, Biden’s attorneys first found classified documents six days before the 2022 midterm elections, but the Biden administration kept this information from the American people. What impact would this revelation have made on the election? Was the Biden administration ever planning to disclose this information to the public? Or were they hoping to conceal it indefinitely? It is not a stretch to believe this was possible.
After all, as recent years have shown, the mainstream media and the DOJ have a political bias for Democrats (eg.the handling of Hillary Clinton’s email scandal and the Trump-Russian collusion false narrative). Further confirming this bias-the DOJ has known about Biden’s mishandling of classified documents since November 4, yet, for months, the story never leaked.
The differential treatment between former President Trump and Biden over classified documents is startling. For starters, the National Archives bird-dogged Trump the moment he left office while giving Biden a pass. And despite being in active negotiations with the DOJ, the FBI raided former President Trump’s residence in Florida.
Never mind a raid, the DOJ has never even issued subpoenas on the Biden administration. According to the Wall Street Journal, DOJ officials considered sending FBI agents to monitor the search by Biden’s personal attorneys but decided against it to avoid “complicating” the investigation.
Effectively, the DOJ is giving Biden’s personal lawyers the power to decide what evidence to reveal. For example- How were the classified materials secured- were they in a drawer or locked up? Were they carelessly mixed in with other documents? Were they in appropriate classified marked color-bordered folders?
Attorney and George Washington University Law school professor Jonathan Turley:
As someone who has worked with classified evidence at the TS/SCI level since the Reagan administration, the decision is breathtaking. It effectively replaced well-established national security protocols with an honor system to be followed by persons unknown.”
Further, only after the story finally leaked to the media did Attorney General Merrick Garland appoint a special counsel to probe Biden’s mishandling of documents.
Not surprisingly, while highly critical of Trump for storing classified documents at Mar-a Lago, the mainstream media is only mildly critical of Biden. The media is also quick to denote distinctions between Trump’s and Biden’s classified document scandals. Such as the fact that significantly more material marked classified was found at Mar-a Lago than at the multiple locations found in Biden’s possession from his years as vice president.
However, they omit that President Trump had the authority to declassify everything, but Biden did not. Moreover, unlike Biden, the Presidential Records Act authorized Trump to possess documents from his presidency.
Further, we know that the material at Mar-a Lago went directly from the White House to Trump’s residence, where it remained secured under secret service protection, while the years-long chain of custody of the materials found in Biden’s possession is unknown. Biden’s vice presidency ended six years ago. Did the materials go directly from the White House to Biden’s office and residence? Or have they been moved from location to location? It is impossible to know every person who accessed these documents.
We do know that Biden’s degenerate son Hunter lived at this Wilmington residence on and off from 2017- to 2019. Comforting thought that a man who made tens of millions of dollars selling his father’s influence and name to foreign nations had access to some of our country’s top secrets. And even the most partisan would agree that a garage is not appropriately secure for valuable items other than a car. Does anyone think that “Dr.” Jill would store expensive jewelry in the garage?
No one knows who has come in and out of the Biden residence in Delaware because the Biden administration claims they did not keep visitor logs. The New York Post calculated that Biden spent more than 25% of his presidency at his Wilmington residence. It is inconceivable that the secret service did not record who came and went from this home. What are they hiding?
The Biden administration claims Biden does not know how or why the documents came into his possession. Yet, they repeatedly assert that Biden takes classified material “very seriously”. Sorry, both statements can not be true.
On Biden’s first day in office, then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki pledged that the administration would “bring transparency and truth back to government”. Concealing information and refusing to answer questions sounds more like obfuscation and deceit.
