The long-awaited report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller has finally been completed and handed over to the Attorney General William Barr. The details in the report have not yet been released, but what is known is great news for President Trump and everyone in his orbit.
The biggest takeaways
After almost three years of investigations, 675 days of which were under Mueller’s special counsel, into whether or not Trump or anyone in his campaign conspired with Russia to affect the 2016 presidential election, not a single American has been charged with Russian collusion. Based on this fact it can safely be concluded that there was no criminal conspiracy between Trump or the Trump campaign and Russia.
There has been speculation that sealed indictments exist. All reporting indicates that there are zero pending indictments.
These facts belie the wishful thinking expressed by some that a future indictment for Russian conspiracy may be awaiting Trump. Yes, DOJ guidelines bar the indictment of a sitting president. However, everyone around him is certainly fair game. The fact that there are zero indictments indicates that Trump is also free and clear of guilt- he could not have conspired with himself.
The infamous “Trump Tower” meeting, between Don, Jr, and a Russian lawyer, and a few others, which has been referred to by the media as proof that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia, has been proven to be nothing more than more biased spin. If this 20 minute meeting, in which no information regarding Clinton was exchanged, was evidence of collusion, as decried by many, most assuredly Don, Jr. would be facing charges.
The pleas by the never Trump media and liberal lawmakers about “protecting” the Mueller investigation, has been shown to be nothing more than liberal hysteria, and can now end. Mueller’s report is complete, and evidently with no obstruction from the Trump administration, as evidenced by Barr’s letter to Congress.
Never-Trump Bias
Liberal lawmakers, such as the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff, and Rep. Eric Swalwell (CA-D) have repeatedly, not only accused the president of conspiring with Russians, but have even publicly declared that they have seen “direct” evidence that the Trump campaign was involved in a criminal conspiracy with Russia. Undoubtedly Mueller and his team had access to all the “evidence”, if not more than what was available to Congress. Although unlikely, these lawmakers should be held to account for falsely accusing the president of a crime and for misleading the American people.
Further, almost every anchor and the majority of pundits on CNN and MSNBC have been reporting, since before Trump was even inaugurated, that Trump-Russia collusion was a foregone conclusion. The New York Times, the Washington Post, Buzzfeed, among other news outlets have also continually advanced the Russian collusion narrative. Those among the media should be ashamed, and take steps to ensure that their bias and personal animus will no longer reflect in their reporting on President Trump and the “news”. But, of course this is highly unlikely.
Next Moves
When the information in the report is released to the public undoubtedly the left will dissect it to obtain anything to use against the president. Undoubtedly, after the exhaustive years- long probe, the report will contain some information less than flattering to the president, perhaps criticism of obstruction, which didn’t rise to criminality. It is already clear that many on the left are moving the goal posts, beyond Russian collusion. Everyone is aware that the end- goal of the Never -Trump faction was always about the impeachment of this president, or at the very least preventing his re-election. Unfortunately, even if Trump is completely vindicated it’s doubtful that those on the left will cease their efforts to bring down the president.
Now that it’s becoming clear that the narrative, which has consumed our country for years, that the Trump campaign colluded with Russian nationals to steal the election from Hillary Clinton is false, the American people deserve answers. In spite of the countless investigations there is still so much that is unknown about how and why the DOJ/FBI under the Obama administration opened an investigation into a presidential campaign, which even entailed the surveillance of members of Trump’s team . The fact that a presidential campaign and American citizens were spied on under false pretenses should concern every American.
It’s time for complete transparency. We need answers into what may be the biggest scandal in American modern times- How and why did the highest echelons of our government began a crusade to prevent a presidency? Hopefully, now that the Mueller probe has come to an end, President Trump will release all of the the documents requested by Devin Nunes when he was the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee. Let the sunlight shine! After more than two years of being force-fed a false Russia -Trump collusion narrative, the extent of the abuse of power, and weaponization of our intelligence agencies needs to be fully exposed.
