Darrell E. Brooks Jr, a career criminal with a 50 plus page rap sheet dating back to 1999, has been identified as the driver of a red SUV that crashed through a Waukesha, Wisconsin Christmas parade, killing 5 people and injuring 48.
There is much circumstantial evidence indicating that Brooks may have been racially motivated. His now shuttered social media accounts were rife with racism, support for Black Lives Matter, black nationalism, and memes denigrating capitalism, and the police. And witnesses at the scene describe Brooks as acting with intent. Before mowing down dozens, Brooks had to drive through a police barrier.

However, despite the short time frame authorities in Waukesha have already concluded that Brooks actions were not terrorist-related. Waukesha police Chief Daniel Thompson stated that Brooks was fleeing the scene of a “domestic disturbance” involving a knife. He added that Brooks was not being chased by police when he broke through the barrier into the parade route.
Aside from not knowing Brook’s motives, another unanswered question is why was Brooks a free man? It appears that Brooks was the beneficiary of the Democrat-led movement to end cash bail. Brook’s was a registered child sex offender, and out on bail for two open felony counts. The last charge involved an incident that occurred just a couple of weeks ago. Brooks allegedly punched the mother of his child in the face and then intentionally ran her over with the same vehicle as the one he used to plow into 50 people in Waukesha.
Despite Brook’s extensive criminal and violent history, he was released from jail and even given back his car keys 48 hours before he mowed down parade attendees on just $1,000 bail. According to a letter by the Milwaukee DA, obtained by a local reporter, the DA has conceded that the “state’s bail recommendation, in this case, was inappropriately low…” They are thus conducting “an internal review”. Small consolation for the victims and their families.

Darrell Brooks owes Harris and her fellow bail “reform” advocates a debt of gratitude. Unfortunately, the rest of law-abiding America has to suffer for her and her party’s sheer incompetence.
