Even on the main issue that more than likely pushed Biden into the White House, Biden is a proven failure.
While Covid is once again surging two years into the pandemic and almost a year into the Biden presidency lets take a look down memory lane. Starting with Biden’s ridiculous claim during the presidential campaign that unlike then-President Trump, he had a plan to end the pandemic.
And remember at a CNN Town hall during the presidential campaign Biden stated “If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive, All the people. I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data.” This statement alone should have made it clear to the American voters that Biden was not an honest man dealing from a full deck.
Last year during the second presidential debate Biden also declared that then-President Trump should resign because 220,000 had died from Covid. Then-candidate Biden: “220,000 Americans dead. If you hear nothing else I say tonight, hear this. Anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as the President of the United States.” Today that number is more than 800,000.
Interestingly, the hypocrite-in-chief no longer carries around a card with the number of Covid deaths, which he often cited during the campaign and earlier in his presidency.
Omicron
It is not fair to blame Biden for the resurgence of Covid and the new Omicron variant coursing through much of the world, including the United States. However, the lack of preparedness can be blamed on the ineptitude of the current administration.
In Biden’s Covid blather to the nation on Tuesday, he claimed “nobody saw it coming” – “it” being that any Covid variant could spread as quickly as Omicron. Both Dr. Fauci and CDC Director Rochelle Walensky have denied being caught off-guard by the new variant.
The fact is there were ample warnings that Omicron would be problematic to the United States. On November 24, the World Health Organization officially labeled Omicron a “variant of concern”- its most serious category. Further, officials in South Africa, where the variant seemingly originated, warned of Omicron’s ability to defeat the vaccines and its incredible transmissibility.
Not to mention every sentient person could have foreseen an increased demand for testing ahead of the holiday season.
Despite the warnings that a highly contagious variant resistant to the vaccine would arrive in the United States, the Biden administration did nothing to ensure every American who needed a Covid test could access one. Disgracefully, in hard-hit cities, many are forced to wait in hours-long lines to learn if they are sick and contagious.
Many other countries offer at-home tests free and readily available on government websites. Wasn’t the $1.9 trillion covid rescue spending bill supposed to pay to increase testing capabilities?
Only on Tuesday did the Biden administration announce that at-home tests will be made available to those who request one from a government website. This plan, which will take at least a month to enact, should have been implemented months ago, even before Omicron.
Another of Biden’s priorities should have been to accelerate the approval and production of treatments. It is a disgrace that two years into the pandemic and most of the Covid infected still have no access to therapeutics.
According to the Wall Street Journal, there are only about 50,000 doses of Monoclonal antibodies on hand. The administration only recently ordered more. Instead of using the almost $2 trillion “Covid” bill on paying people not to work and other progressive causes, why wasn’t more of this money used to advance and purchase therapeutics?
Although the FDA recently approved Pfizer’s antiviral pill, Paxlovid, which studies show will reduce hospitalization, for at least the next few months, only scarce quantities will be available to a minority of high-risk patients.
On inauguration day, Biden inherited: testing capabilities, three vaccinations, and numerous therapeutics. The bulk of the hard work to defeat Covid was done. A year later, and Biden’s grand plan to end the pandemic appears to be – mandating multiple doses of the Trump-era vaccines and mandatory mask-wearing- Genius.
Unfortunately, Biden and the far-leftists dictating his presidency saw Covid mainly as an opportunity to advance their progressive agenda and secure more power for the Democratic Party.
On every front, Biden’s presidency has failed our nation. The one upside- Biden’s presidency is so bad that a red wave is almost ensured next year.
